1. What is cloud computing
Ans: Cloud computing is on-demand delivery of It resources through a cloud services platform via the internet.
With Cloud computing you don't need to make large upfront investments in hardware and spend lot of time managing those hardware.
You can access as many resources as you need instantly and pay for what you use.

2. What is Salesforce

Ans: Salesforce is customer relationship management software which is delivered entirely over internet.
Customers would no longer need to purchase servers with infrastructure and install software. All they would need is just an internet connection.
Salesforce is Software as a service(SAAS)

3. Different Editions of Salesforce

 Ans: Salesforce.com provides different types of editions and features depending upon the cloud.
For Sales cloud it provides four different types of editions.
They are:

Group
Professional
Enterprise
Unlimited

4. Different types of object in Salesforce.com

 Ans: In Salesforce.com we have two types of objects. They are

Standard objects.
Custom Objects.
Standard Objects :- These are objects provided by Salesforce.com.
Custom Objects :- These objects are created by user in Salesforce.

5. What is an object in Salesforce?

Ans: An Objects is represented as a database table which stores organization data .

6.What is TAB in Salesforce?

Ans: Tab is basically a user interface to create records in objects and view records in objects.

7. Different type of Tabs in Salesforce?

 Ans: 3 different types of Tab's as below,
Custom Tabs.
Visual force Tabs.
Web Tabs.

8.What is a profile?

Ans: Profile is a collection of permissions and settings that allow user to do speficic actions
It is another way to restrict or control access to a particular record.

Profile are of two types.
Standard Profile.
Custom Profile.

Standard Profile : Profiles created by force.com are called Standard Profiles.
Custom Profiles :  Profiles created by user are called Custom Profiles.

9. What is Role ?

 Ans:Role Hierarchy settings make the managers and subordinates to edit, and view the records. The users in the Hierarchy can be able to view, edit and report all the data shared.

10.Difference between Role and Profile?

 Ans:Roles :- Its a record level access which is given to a user, Role is not mandatory.

Profiles :- Every user must have a profile defined, its determines object level access which is given to a user.
Using  profile object level and field level access can be made like general permissions, tab level permissions, read & write permissions etc.

11. Number of standard profiles available in Salesforce.com?

 Ans: In Salesforce we have 6 standard profile they are.

Standard user.
Solution manager.
Marketing User.
Read only.
System administrator.
Contract manager

12. Can we delete a user?

Ans: No we cannot delete a user, we can either Freeze the user or deactivate the user.

13.What is permission set?

 Ans: Permission sets in Salesforce.com are the combination of different settings and permission sets given to user to access records and files.
With Permission sets we cannot restrict the access but we can grant additional access to user.

14.What are Field Data Types in Salesforce?

 Ans: Auto Number, Formula, Roll-Up Summary, Lookup Relationship, Master-Detail Relationship, Checkbox, Currency, Date, Date/Time, Email, Geo location, Number, Percent, Phone, Picklist, Picklist (Multi-select), Text, Text Area, Text Area (Long), Text Area (Rich), Text (Encrypted), URL.

15:Mention what are the three types of object relations in Salesforce

Ans: Lookup Relationship, Master-detail relationship, many-many relationship
Lookup Relationship:
This is a relation between 2 objects.
25 lookup relationship can be created on an object
No roll-up summary field can be created
Lookup is loosely coupled
Object can either be standard or custom.

Master-Detail Relationship:
Its a parent child relationship between 2 objects.
If parent is deleted, child record will also get deleted
Max of 2 Master-Detail relationship can be created on a object
Standard can be parent or child
Detail cannot be standard object
Child record inherits parent security settings.
Master object has roll-up summary fields

Many-Many relationship:
2 master detail relationship can be created on a object called as Junction Object.
Each record of 1 object will be linked up with another record of another object.

16.How do you give Org access to any user?
Ans: Org access can be given in different ways:
IP ranges(Company Level)
IP Ranges(Profile Level)
Login Hours

Login hours are set in an organization to restrict the user’s who tries to login before or after login hours.
To set login hours in an organization go to Setup=>Administration=>Manage users=>Profiles.

IP ranges are used to restrict any login attempt is done from unknown IP addresses.
Usually organizations maintain login IP ranges.
To set Login IP ranges in salesforce go to Setup=>Administration Setup=>Manage Users=> Profiles.

17. What are Organization Wide Defaults?
Ans:Organization wide Defaults define the baseline level of access to data records for all users in an Organization.
Organization wide Defaults are used to restrict access to data(Records).
Organization wide Defaults(OWD) can be defined for Standard Objects and Custom Objects.
There are 3 way of defining OWD:
Private
Read-Only
Public read/write

If either Private or Read-Only access is given then we can open up the access by following ways:

1) Role Heirarchy
2) Manual Sharing
3) Sharing Rule.

18. What is Manual Sharing?
Ans:Manual sharing is the process of sharing records manually.

19. What is Sharing rule?
Ans: This is used to open up the access, Create a rule for users, role/subordinates meeting some criteria.

20. What is public group?
Ans: Administrators can create public groups. Public group is a colletion of users, roles/subordinates that all have in common.

21. Can we create Master Detail relationship on existing records?
Ans: No.
First we have to create the lookup relationship then populate the value on all existing record and then convert it.

22. Can we convert the lookup relationship to Master Detail relationship?
Ans:Yes, We can convert the lookup relationship to master detail relationship only if all the existing record has valid lookup field values.

23. In how many ways can we share a record?
Ans: Records can be shared various ways:
a. OWD
b. Role Heirachy
c. Manual Sharing
d. Criteria Based Sharing Rules.
e. Apex Sharing

24. What all are various functions of Roll-Up Summary field?
Ans:
Count : It calculates the total number of related records.
Sum : It totals the values of selected fields.
Min : Displays lowest value.
Max : Displays the highest value.

25. What are field dependencies?
Ans: They allow us to change the content of a pick-list based on the value of another field
Pick-list can be controlling or depending fields

Controlling Fields: Controls the available values in one or more corresponding fields
Depending Fields: Displays values based on the controlling fields.
